Alcoa obtains good results in the electric auction

The auction of distribution of the electric bonuses of the great industry for 2017 concluded with favorable results for the multinational Alcoa. This has obtained the best results of the last three years, with three blocks of 90 MW and another two for the aluminum factories of A Coruña and Avilés, for which it will receive about 130 million euros. Also auctioned 415 blocks of 5 MW, over which the US multinational has not provided information.

These results have been validated by the National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC), after which Alcoa will shortly make its own assessment of the results obtained. According to the multinational, the interruptibility gives visibility to a year, which does not provide a basis for future investments, and ensures that it will continue to collaborate with the institutions to achieve this more stable and long-term framework. About what has not yet appeared is the possible sale of the three Spanish primary aluminum factories (in A Coruña, San Cibrao and Avilés), but has ensured that these results ensure the viability of the three factories that the multinational Of aluminum has in Spain and makes them more attractive for potential investors.
